Voting for Maharashtra’s 2024 assembly elections kicked off at 7 am on Wednesday, with a voter turnout of 32.18% recorded by 1 pm across the state’s 288 constituencies. While the turnout remains consistent, regional differences have emerged.
Gadchiroli, a district with a history of Maoist activity, saw the highest turnout at 50.89%, exceeding the state’s overall average. In contrast, Mumbai City reported a lower turnout of 27.73%. As the voting continues until 6 pm, authorities are urging more citizens to head to the polls to ensure broad electoral participation.
