Loka Kerala Sabha Records Progress on 28 Proposals, Says CM Pinarayi Vijayan

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has said that significant progress has been achieved on 28 proposals put forward through the Loka Kerala Sabha, underlining the state government’s commitment to strengthening ties with the global Malayali community.

Speaking about the outcomes of the Loka Kerala Sabha, the Chief Minister noted that several suggestions and recommendations raised by non-resident Keralites have translated into concrete policy measures and welfare initiatives. CM described the Sabha as an effective platform that enables expatriate Keralites to actively participate in the state’s development discourse.

CM Pinarayi Vijayan also highlighted NORKA Care, calling it one of the most comprehensive welfare schemes introduced for expatriates. The scheme provides global health and accident insurance coverage for non-resident Keralites, offering financial protection and security during medical emergencies and unforeseen accidents anywhere in the world.

According to the Chief Minister, initiatives like NORKA Care reflect the government’s approach of viewing expatriates not merely as contributors to the economy, but as stakeholders whose well-being is a priority. CM added that the state will continue to strengthen institutional mechanisms to address the concerns of the Malayali diaspora and ensure their continued engagement with Kerala’s social and economic progress.

The Loka Kerala Sabha, launched as a unique global forum for the Malayali diaspora, continues to play a key role in shaping inclusive policies and reinforcing Kerala’s connection with its people across the world.
