Residents welcomed the launch of the Noida International Airport but urged the government to ensure affordable airfares so that the benefits reach all sections of society. Narendra Modi inaugurated the first phase of the airport at Jewar in Gautam Buddh Nagar district on Saturday.
Locals said the new facility should not remain limited to the affluent and called for pricing that is accessible to economically weaker sections. The airport has been developed under a public-private partnership model by Yamuna International Airport Private Limited, a subsidiary of Zurich Airport International AG. Residents expressed hope that the project will boost regional development while remaining inclusive.
