Milan: Renowned Italian fashion designer Giorgio Armani, who revolutionized global fashion with his elegant and timeless creations, has passed away at the age of 91 due to age-related ailments.
Founder of the Armani Exchange Group, Armani redefined men’s and women’s fashion with his innovative concepts and left an indelible mark across multiple industries, including haute couture, ready-to-wear clothing, leather goods, footwear, watches, jewelry, cosmetics, eyewear, and even home interiors.
In a statement, the Armani Group expressed deep sorrow, confirming that he passed away at his residence. They noted that even in his final days, Armani remained dedicated to the company and worked tirelessly on upcoming fashion collections.
His death comes as he was preparing to celebrate the 50th anniversary of his iconic fashion house during the Milan Fashion Week. With the passing of the fashion titan who built a $10 billion empire, attention now turns to the future leadership of the Armani Group. Reports suggest that his niece, Roberta Armani, may step in to lead the brand.
