KSRTC Enters ₹10-Crore Club with All-Time Record Ticket Revenue

The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has scripted history by posting its highest-ever ticket revenue, with Monday’s collection crossing the coveted ₹10-crore mark.

KSRTC earned ₹10.77 crore from ticket sales, while non-ticket income added another ₹0.76 crore, taking the total revenue for the day to an impressive ₹11.53 crore—the highest in the corporation’s history.

Managing Director Dr P. S. Pramoj Shankar credited the milestone to the combined efforts of employees, supervisors, and officers, noting that the achievement comes without any increase in ticket fares. For comparison, KSRTC’s ticket revenue on December 16 last year stood at ₹8.57 crore, underscoring the scale of this year’s growth.

Pramoj Shankar said the introduction of new buses, improved punctuality, and enhanced service quality have won strong passenger approval. Through disciplined operations, all KSRTC depots are now operating at a profit, he added.

Dr Pramoj Shankar also highlighted that healthy competition among depots, strict revenue targets, reduction in off-road buses, and maximum deployment of vehicles on routes have together driven the surge in earnings, marking a major turnaround for the state-run transport utility.
