Kerala Weather Alert: IMD Issues Yellow Alert for Heavy Rains Till April 6

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for several districts in Kerala, warning of heavy rainfall and thunderstorms from April 2 to April 6, 2025. A yellow alert indicates rainfall between 64.5 mm and 115.5 mm within 24 hours.

Districts Under Yellow Alert:

  • April 3: Pathanamthitta, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, and Wayanad.
  • April 4: Thiruvananthapuram, Pathanamthitta, Idukki, Ernakulam, and Thrissur.
  • April 5: Pathanamthitta, Idukki, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, and Wayanad.
  • April 6: Malappuram and Wayanad.

The IMD has also warned of thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds reaching speeds of 30-50 km/h. Residents in affected areas are advised to take precautions, stay updated with weather forecasts, and follow safety guidelines issued by authorities.
