Kochi: Kerala has secured the second position in the ‘Most Welcoming Regions in India’ ranking by global digital travel giant Booking.com, based on over 360 million customer reviews. This recognition is seen as a significant boost to the state’s thriving tourism industry.
The ranking highlights Kerala’s warm hospitality, rich cultural heritage, and stunning landscapes, which continue to attract both domestic and international travelers. Popular tourist destinations such as Mararikulam, Thekkady, Alappuzha, Munnar, and Varkala have been featured among the top 10 most welcoming locations in India.
Tourism Minister P.A. Mohamed Riyas welcomed the achievement, stating that Kerala’s innovative tourism model and commitment to enhancing visitor experiences have played a key role in securing this recognition. He added that the state’s serene backwaters, lush greenery, and responsible tourism initiatives have made it a favorite among travelers of all ages.
Officials believe that this ranking will further strengthen Kerala’s position as a top-tier global tourist destination, attracting more visitors in the coming years.
