The Kerala State IT Mission, in collaboration with the Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) and the ICT Academy of Kerala, hosted the “K-AI: The Guiding Hand of Smart Governance” conference on June 13, 2025, at Technopark, Thiruvananthapuram. The event, held under the national IndiaAI initiative, aimed to explore how artificial intelligence can transform public administration across key sectors.
The high-impact one-day conference brought together senior government officials, policy thinkers, domain experts, and innovators from AI startups. The focus was on real-world AI solutions to address governance challenges — from crowd management at pilgrim centers to disease forecasting, crop pest control, and law enforcement efficiency.
Startups showcased practical AI models tailored to departmental needs, with active participation from sectors such as health, agriculture, police, and disaster management. A preparatory workshop held on June 12 had already mapped out specific problem statements, ensuring focused collaboration between the public sector and emerging tech talent.
The conference laid the foundation for Kerala’s AI-inclusive governance roadmap, in alignment with national digital priorities. It also reinforced the state’s commitment to digital transformation — including unified service portals, AI-powered virtual task forces, and chatbots — to make over 100 government services more accessible and efficient.
With K-AI, Kerala takes a bold step forward in positioning itself as a national leader in smart governance, leveraging the power of AI for a more responsive, transparent, and citizen-centric future.
