Thiruvananthapuram: In a significant step toward addressing the ongoing strike by ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist) workers, the Kerala government has formed a five-member high-level committee to examine their long-pending demands.
The committee will hold detailed consultations with ASHA organisations and trade union representatives to assess their grievances, which include demands for better wages, official recognition, and improved working conditions. The panel has been directed to submit its report promptly, paving the way for possible resolutions.
The decision comes amid growing pressure as thousands of ASHA workers across the state continue their protest, seeking justice for their crucial role in the public healthcare system.
