Kerala Govt Resolves Raj Bhavan Row, Approves Fresh List of Police Officers for Governor’s Security

Thiruvananthapuram: Putting an end to the recent standoff, the Kerala government has officially cleared the posting of seven police officers to the Governor’s security wing at Raj Bhavan. The updated list includes Arun Kumar V S, Gopakumar A, Himesh M S, Subhash S, Aneesh J B, Rajesh Kumar S, and Rajesh C R, as per the latest government order.

The move comes weeks after a controversial U-turn on June 28, when the state withdrew an earlier order appointing six officers to the Raj Bhavan, reportedly following objections from Governor Rajendra Arlekar. Those officers were quickly reassigned, revealing a brewing administrative tug-of-war between the state and the Governor’s office.

With the latest directive, the government has re-established clarity by finalizing the security team, which will operate under the Superintendent/Commissioner of Police in consultation with the Governor’s Secretary.

This decision marks a significant step in resolving tensions, aligning the Governor’s security needs with the state’s administrative process, and ensuring a stable and coordinated security framework at the Raj Bhavan.
