Kochi: Gold prices in Kerala are on a record-breaking rally, climbing to unprecedented heights within hours. On Monday afternoon, rates jumped by another ₹1,000 per sovereign, bringing the price to ₹84,840—just shy of the ₹85,000 milestone. In total, prices surged ₹1,920 in two quick revisions today.
This marks the highest gold price ever recorded in the state. The per-gram rate now stands at ₹10,605, up by ₹125. The rally comes after prices crossed ₹80,000 earlier this month, a steep rise from ₹77,640 at the start of September.
Analysts link the surge to strong international demand and investors turning to gold as a safe-haven asset, further fueling the upward momentum.
