Thiruvananthapuram: In a bold push for inclusive development and climate resilience, the Kerala Cabinet has cleared a trio of impactful initiatives. Leading the list is the approval of a new Model Residential School in Thonnakkal under the Scheduled Caste Development Department, initially enrolling 35 students in Grade 5, with phased expansion and new teacher appointments already greenlit.
To support financially strained public transport services, the Cabinet has also sanctioned loan waivers for KSRTC and KTDFC, offering a much-needed lifeline to Kerala’s key transport corporations.
In a forward-thinking move to combat climate challenges, a comprehensive coastal protection package has been approved to safeguard vulnerable coastal communities. The project will reinforce embankments, control erosion, and enhance infrastructure in high-risk shoreline areas.
Together, these initiatives signal the state’s firm commitment to social equity, infrastructure renewal, and environmental defense, positioning Kerala as a model for integrated governance and public welfare.
