Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has revised its rain forecast for Kerala, announcing no weather alerts for Thursday and Friday, but warning of intensifying monsoon conditions starting Saturday, particularly in the northern districts.
While earlier forecasts had predicted isolated heavy rains in Kasaragod and Kannur, the updated outlook confirms clear skies for now across all districts.
From Saturday, however, the rain clouds return. The IMD has issued yellow alerts for Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod, with localized heavy rainfall expected.
On Sunday, the alert list expands to eight districts: Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod.
The wet spell is likely to persist into Monday, with yellow alerts continuing in Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod, as authorities urge residents to stay alert and prepare for potential downpours.
