Kerala Braces for Heavy Rainfall: IMD Issues Red Alert in Three Districts, Warnings Across the State

Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a state-wide warning for heavy rainfall across Kerala, with alerts in all 14 districts for today.

A Red Alert has been declared in Ernakulam, Idukki, and Thrissur, where extremely heavy rainfall exceeding 204.4 mm is expected within 24 hours.

A Orange Alert has been announced for Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Palakkad, and Malappuram, with forecasts predicting very heavy rain ranging between 115.6 mm and 204.4 mm.

A Yellow Alert has been issued in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod, where isolated heavy showers of 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm are likely.

The public is advised to stay cautious, avoid unnecessary travel, and follow official safety guidelines.
