Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a renewed spell of heavy rainfall across Kerala starting Wednesday, with northern districts expected to bear the brunt. As a precaution, yellow alerts have been issued for Kozhikode, Kannur, and Kasaragod on Wednesday. The alert continues into the week, with Kannur and Kasaragod on the radar for Thursday, followed by Ernakulam, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod on Friday. On Saturday, Kannur and Kasaragod will remain under weather watch. While today’s forecast poses no weather threats for any district, the IMD has assured that fishing along the Kerala–Karnataka–Lakshadweep coast is safe for now. Residents, especially in the alerted districts, are advised to stay vigilant as the monsoon strengthens.
