India’s Tiger Conservation Efforts: A Global Success Story

Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded India’s remarkable achievements in tiger conservation, attributing the rising tiger population to collective efforts and a deep-seated cultural ethos of living in harmony with nature. Speaking about the country’s dedication to preserving its rich biodiversity, he emphasized the importance of ongoing ecological stewardship.

With 57 tiger reserves, India is home to approximately 75% of the world’s wild tiger population. The most recent estimates place the population at 3,682, marking steady growth. States like Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, and Uttarakhand have emerged as key contributors to this success.

The Prime Minister urged continued efforts to protect these iconic animals, ensuring their survival as a symbol of India’s commitment to wildlife and nature conservation for future generations.
