New Delhi: India’s 42nd Vande Bharat Express, running on the high-demand Ahmedabad–Mumbai corridor, is set to roll out with an expanded 20-coach configuration from January 26, giving a major boost to passenger capacity and comfort.
Flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 12, 2024, the Ahmedabad–Mumbai Vande Bharat has quickly emerged as one of the most popular semi-high-speed trains in the country. With passenger demand steadily rising, Indian Railways has decided to lengthen the train, allowing more travelers to enjoy its premium, fast, and modern rail experience.
Connecting two of western India’s biggest economic hubs, the Vande Bharat Express offers reduced travel time, state-of-the-art interiors, advanced safety systems, and world-class onboard amenities. The train stops at key stations along the route, ensuring seamless connectivity between Gujarat and Maharashtra.
Launching the upgraded 20-coach service on Republic Day adds symbolic significance to the move, highlighting Indian Railways’ ongoing push toward modernization, efficiency, and enhanced passenger services across the national rail network.
