A tragic collision between an Indian Navy submarine and the fishing vessel Marthoma occurred 70 nautical miles off the Goa coast on November 21, 2024. Of the 13 fishermen onboard, 11 were rescued, while two remain missing. The Indian Navy, alongside the Coast Guard, has launched a large-scale search operation involving six ships and aircraft. The Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre in Mumbai is supervising the efforts. Investigations are underway to determine the cause of the incident as search operations continue.
