This milestone underscores India’s growing self-reliance and global leadership in defense technology.

With 75% indigenous components, it boasts cutting-edge weapon-sensor systems and advanced network-centric warfare capabilities, showcasing India’s naval engineering excellence.

INS Nilgiri: Leading the Project 17A Stealth Frigate series, INS Nilgiri is designed by the Indian Navy’s Warship Design Bureau. It features enhanced stealth, survivability, and superior seakeeping abilities, representing a new era in indigenous warship design.

INS Vaghsheer: The sixth and final submarine of the Project 75 Scorpene class, INS Vaghsheer marks a significant leap in India’s underwater warfare strength. Built in partnership with France’s Naval Group, it exemplifies India’s expanding submarine-building expertise.

Prime Minister Modi hailed the commissioning as a pivotal step in strengthening India’s naval dominance and advancing its mission for defense self-sufficiency.
