New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu on Monday said that India is firmly on course to emerge as the world’s third-largest economy, even as the global landscape remains marked by uncertainty and economic challenges.
Addressing the nation, the President highlighted India’s strong macroeconomic fundamentals, resilient growth, and structural reforms as key drivers behind the country’s steady economic rise. The President noted that despite geopolitical tensions, inflationary pressures, and slowdowns in several major economies, India has continued to record robust growth.
President Murmu credited the progress to sustained policy reforms, increased infrastructure development, digital transformation, and the growing strength of India’s manufacturing and services sectors. President also underlined the role of innovation, startups, and a young workforce in shaping the country’s economic future.
Emphasising inclusive development, the President said India’s growth trajectory is aimed not just at higher numbers but at improving the quality of life of citizens. The President expressed confidence that with continued reforms and collective effort, India will achieve its long-term goal of becoming a developed nation while playing a larger role in the global economy.
