India Launches 58 Special Flights to Gulf, Steps Up Evacuation Efforts Amid West Asia Tensions

New Delhi: As tensions continue to escalate in West Asia, India has intensified air connectivity to the Gulf region, operating 58 special flights today to support stranded and affected passengers. To ensure uninterrupted travel, airlines have resumed long-haul and ultra-long-haul routes that bypass restricted airspace. Major carriers such as IndiGo, Air India, and Air India Express are leading the expanded operations. The Civil Aviation Ministry noted that Indian airlines operated 24 services yesterday, while Gulf-based carriers Emirates and Etihad Airways together conducted nine services from the region within the past 24 hours.

Reaffirming that passenger safety remains the highest priority, the Ministry said it is working in close coordination with Indian missions and foreign authorities. Airlines have been instructed to provide smooth assistance for ticket refunds and rescheduling, while strict monitoring is in place to prevent excessive fare hikes due to route diversions. Travelers are strongly advised to verify their flight status directly with airlines before heading to the airport and to depend only on official sources for accurate updates.
