Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has affirmed that India is rapidly building a robust technological base to fulfill the nation’s ambitious goal of Viksit Bharat by 2047. Highlighting key initiatives, he announced free AI training for over 5.5 lakh village-level entrepreneurs through Common Service Centres under the India AI Mission, aiming to democratize access to cutting-edge digital skills like AI, machine learning, and cybersecurity in rural India.
The minister also outlined the government’s strides in semiconductor manufacturing, with advanced chip facilities for 3nm and 28–90nm technologies under development. India’s first indigenous semiconductor chips are expected by late 2025, positioning the country among the top five global chip producers.
