Kochi: With Independence Day around the corner, airports across India, including Cochin International Airport, have ramped up security to the highest level. Passengers are being strongly advised to arrive well ahead of their flight time as enhanced checks could take longer than usual.
According to airport authorities, stringent screening for both passengers and baggage, along with round-the-clock surveillance, has been implemented as a precautionary measure. In addition to routine checks, travelers will face an extra layer of inspection at the ladder point right before boarding, adding to the security process.
Following directives from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), these measures aim to ensure maximum safety during the Independence Day period, even if it means a little extra waiting time for flyers.
