A four-year-old girl was killed by a tiger in Valparai. The child, Rajani, was dragged into the forest while playing outside her home and was later found dead, her body partially consumed. The remains were discovered about 300 meters from the family’s residence.
The shocking attack occurred around 6 PM yesterday as the girl played near the front yard. Rajani was the daughter of Manoj Gupta and Monika Devi, migrant workers from Jharkhand who had recently moved to the area.
A frantic overnight search by police, forest officials, fire force, and locals failed to locate the child. The search resumed at dawn today with the help of a trained sniffer dog, which eventually led rescuers to the grim discovery.
Valparai, a region surrounded by dense forest, has long been known for its proximity to wild animals, especially tigers—raising serious concerns about human-wildlife conflict in the area.
