NDA candidates, including Padmaja Venugopal, filed their nomination papers on Friday. Candidates from different constituencies took part in the process. These include Adv. KK Aneesh Kumar (Manalur), CC Mukundan (Nattika), and Balakrishnan (Chelakkara).
The candidates reached the venue from the West Fort as part of a roadshow. Thousands of party workers participated in the rally. Earlier in the day, Padmaja Venugopal visited the Guruvayur Temple. She later visited Murali Mandir and paid floral tributes at the memorials of her parents, K Karunakaran and Kalyanikuttyamma. Her husband Dr. Venugopal was also present.
Gujarat chief minister Bhupendra Patel joined the event and, along with the candidates, paid tribute at the memorials. The roadshow began after paying respects at the statue of K Karunakaran at the Western Fort.
