District Government Pleader and Public Prosecutor K B Sunilkumar has retired from service. He stepped down on March 19 after completing his term and reaching the age limit of 60.
Sunilkumar began his tenure as Additional Government Pleader in the First Additional District Court, Thrissur in December 2016. He was later given additional charge as District Government Pleader in June 2022. In March 2023, he was appointed as the District Government Pleader and Public Prosecutor.
Earlier, in 2017, he also held additional charge as Public Prosecutor in Chavakkad. Apart from his legal career, Sunilkumar has been active in public life. He was elected Chairman of Chalakudy Municipality in 1998.
He is also involved in social and cultural activities in Chalakudy. As Chairman of Mercy Corps, a charitable organisation, he has supported housing for the homeless and welfare aid for patients. During his service, he handled several important cases, including murder and drug cases. He also represented the government in bail matters and secured favourable outcomes.
