Gold Shines Brighter Than Ever in Kerala, Prices Hit Historic High

Kochi: Gold prices in Kerala have surged to an all-time high, setting a new benchmark in the state’s bullion market. With a sharp rise of ₹280 per sovereign today, the price of gold climbed to ₹1,04,520, breaking the previous record of ₹1,04,440 set on December 27.

On a per-gram basis, prices rose by ₹35, taking the cost of one gram of gold to ₹13,065. The yellow metal had crossed the ₹1 lakh mark for the first time on December 23 and has continued its upward march ever since.

Market experts attribute the surge to developments in the international market. Global uncertainties, including US military action in Venezuela, have pushed investors towards gold as a safe-haven asset. Increased demand for secure investments has kept gold prices elevated, reflecting the growing appeal of the precious metal amid global tensions.
