Kochi: Gold prices in Kerala are back on the rise after a brief dip, soaring by ₹440 per sovereign (8 grams) on Friday to touch ₹84,680. The per gram rate also climbed by ₹55, reaching ₹10,585.
At the start of September, gold was priced at ₹77,640 per sovereign. It crossed the ₹80,000 milestone on September 9, and since then, the yellow metal has been breaking records almost daily.
The highest-ever price of ₹84,840 per sovereign was recorded on Tuesday. Although prices slipped slightly over the past two days, Friday’s surge indicates the upward rally is far from over.
