Kochi: Gold prices in Kerala surged sharply today, with a ₹440 hike per sovereign (8 grams), pushing the current rate to ₹72,600. The per-gram price also rose by ₹55, now standing at ₹9,075, reflecting renewed momentum in the bullion market.
After days of fluctuations, gold rates are once again approaching early July levels. On July 1, the price was ₹72,160 per sovereign, and by July 3, it had briefly peaked at ₹72,840, before witnessing a short dip. Today’s upswing signals a return to that upward trend.
This spike follows a major milestone reached earlier this year. On June 13, gold broke its previous all-time high of ₹74,320 per sovereign, recorded on April 22, setting new benchmarks in the local market. With global cues and investor demand influencing prices, gold continues to glitter for Kerala’s buyers and sellers alike.
