Kochi – After weeks of decline, gold is once again glittering in the markets. In a strong comeback, 22K gold prices surged by ₹1,200 over the last two days, with today’s rate climbing by ₹360 per sovereign (8 grams) to ₹72,520. The price per gram also rose by ₹45, now standing at ₹9,065.
This rebound follows a steep fall of over ₹3,000 in recent weeks. Notably, gold had hit a record high of ₹74,320 on April 22, which was briefly surpassed on June 13, before the prices took a downward turn.
Now, with growing economic uncertainty, investors are once again flocking to gold as a safe-haven asset, driving the price back up. Market analysts believe this trend could continue, with ₹75,000 per sovereign well within sight in the coming days.
