Gold Rush Continues: Prices Hit All-Time High at ₹72,120 Per Sovereign in Kerala

Kochi: The gold market in Kerala is sizzling hot, with prices soaring to an all-time high. In a dramatic surge, gold rose by ₹560 per sovereign today, pushing the price of 8 grams to ₹72,120. The per gram rate also jumped by ₹70, now standing at ₹9,015.

This marks yet another milestone in a relentless upward trend. Earlier this month, gold crossed the ₹70,000 mark per sovereign for the first time, and it has only climbed higher since then. What’s more, the price spike is visible even in the base rate, excluding any making charges or taxes.

On April 17, gold witnessed its steepest single-day jump of ₹840, breaking through the ₹71,000 barrier. The rally began last Saturday, and experts say there’s no sign of it slowing down.

Analysts link the meteoric rise to global economic uncertainties, which are pushing investors toward the safety of gold, reaffirming its status as the go-to haven in turbulent times.
