Gold Prices Hit Monthly High in Kerala; Sovereign Rate Jumps by ₹1,400

Gold prices in Kerala witnessed a sharp surge today, marking one of the biggest single-day jumps in recent weeks. The price of gold rose by ₹1,400 per sovereign (pavan), taking the new rate to ₹97,280. The per-gram price climbed by ₹175, reaching ₹12,160.

The market had seen a brief dip yesterday morning, but prices rebounded strongly by evening, touching ₹95,880 per sovereign after a ₹400 increase. Today’s rise has now pushed gold to its highest level this month, inching close to the all-time record.

The current surge is nearing the historic peak of ₹97,360 per sovereign, recorded on October 17. Experts attribute the upswing to ongoing volatility in the global market, which is driving investors to seek the relative safety of gold. Analysts also suggest that the upward trend may continue in the coming days as international uncertainties persist.
