Kochi: After soaring to record highs, gold prices in Kerala have taken a dip, marking the second straight day of decline. The price of one sovereign (8 grams) has fallen by ₹320, bringing it down to ₹65,840, while the per-gram rate has dropped by ₹40 to ₹8,230.
This decline comes after gold touched an all-time high of ₹66,480 per sovereign earlier this week, crossing the ₹66,000 mark for the first time on Tuesday.
Experts link the price drop to global market fluctuations and stock market movements. On January 22, Kerala witnessed gold prices breaking the ₹60,000 barrier for the first time in history, followed by a sharp surge past ₹64,000 before showing signs of stabilization.
