Kochi: Gold prices in Kerala fell once again, continuing the recent trend of frequent fluctuations in the market. The price of gold dropped by ₹400 per sovereign (pavan) on Thursday, bringing the rate down to ₹89,480. The price per gram declined by ₹50, with the current rate standing at ₹11,185 per gram.
The market has been witnessing a pattern of continuous ups and downs in gold prices over the past several days. On November 4, gold prices had fallen by ₹520 per sovereign, pushing the rate below ₹90,000. After a sharp decline of nearly ₹9,000 within ten days, prices had rebounded on October 30, crossing the ₹90,000 mark again — only to drop once more this week.
The all-time record price of gold in Kerala was ₹97,360 per sovereign, recorded on October 17. Experts attribute the current volatility in gold prices to global economic uncertainties, particularly developments in the U.S. economy, which continue to influence international gold markets.
