Thiruvananthapuram: Gold prices in Kerala fell today, bringing slight relief to buyers in the jewellery market.
The price of 916 gold is currently ₹1,16,720 for 8 grams. Meanwhile, the price of 18-carat gold decreased by ₹40 per gram, bringing the rate to around ₹96,360 for 8 grams.
Silver prices were also noted in the market, with 8 grams of silver currently priced at around ₹2,160, which is ₹40 lower compared to the previous day’s rate.
Market analysts say the stability in local gold prices is mainly due to fluctuations in international gold rates and changes in the rupee–dollar exchange rate, both of which strongly influence the domestic gold market.
Jewellery traders say the steady price may encourage more purchases, especially as wedding and festive demand continues in many parts of India.
