Gold Prices Drop in Kerala; ₹760 Fall Per Sovereign

Thiruvananthapuram: Gold prices in the Indian state of Kerala recorded a decline today, offering slight relief to buyers in the jewellery market. The price of 22-carat gold fell by ₹760 per sovereign (8 grams), bringing the rate down to around ₹1,17,080.

The price of 22-carat gold per gram is now approximately ₹14,635. Meanwhile, 24-carat gold is priced at about ₹15,966 per gram, while 18-carat gold is trading near ₹11,974 per gram.

Market analysts say the drop in local prices reflects fluctuations in international gold rates and changes in the rupee–dollar exchange rate, which significantly influence domestic gold markets.

Jewellery traders note that the recent fall could encourage more purchases, especially as wedding and festive demand continues across India.
