Gokulam Gopalan Urges Compassion in Healthcare: “Every Life Is Invaluable”

Venjaramoodu: In a heartfelt address at the nursing convocation ceremony of Gokulam Medical College, Sree Gokulam Group Chairman Gokulam Gopalan emphasized the need for compassion and humanity in the healthcare sector. “Every life is priceless, and this truth must resonate in the hearts of everyone serving in healthcare,” he said, while expressing pride in the institution’s continued legacy of producing exemplary medical professionals.

The event marked the graduation of BSc Nursing, Post Basic BSc, and MSc Nursing students, including the remarkable 2020 COVID batch, in a grand and emotional ceremony that celebrated perseverance, service, and academic excellence.

Gopalan praised Malayali nurses as among the most selfless and service-oriented in the world, applauding the college for nurturing such global healthcare ambassadors.

Outstanding students who topped the Kerala University of Health Sciences examinations were honored during the event. Four students received distinctions, showcasing the academic caliber of the institution. Lt. Colonel Prof. Meera K. Pillai, the Principal, presented the college report, highlighting key milestones.

Dr. Divya S. Iyer, MD of Vizhinjam Seaport, inaugurated the ceremony, stating, “Nursing is a noble profession destined to reach even greater heights, and Malayali nurses will continue to lead with pride.”

The occasion was graced by eminent personalities, including Vice Chairman Dr. K.K. Manojan, Vice Principal Dr. Haseena, and senior faculty members Prof. Lija R Nath , Prof. Sreelakshmi U.R., Prof. Preetha Karoline C., Dr. Kepsiba.P , Prof. Archana, Prof. Sheeja Mol K.N., and Prof. Sulaja.

The convocation not only recognized academic success but also honored the unwavering spirit of service that defines nursing, sending forth a new generation of compassionate caregivers into the world.
