New Delhi: The Lok Sabha was adjourned today, formally bringing the first phase of the Budget Session of Parliament to a close. The House will meet again on March 9 for the second and crucial leg of the session.
The opening phase saw intense debates on the Union Budget, with members from across the political spectrum weighing in on economic priorities, welfare allocations, and fiscal strategy. Key national issues were raised during Zero Hour and Question Hour, reflecting the broad political engagement that marked the proceedings.
During the recess, Department-related Parliamentary Standing Committees will scrutinize the Demands for Grants of various ministries — a vital exercise before the Budget is put to vote. The second phase is expected to witness detailed discussions on these grants, along with the passage of the Appropriation Bill and other pending legislative business.
With major financial decisions and policy debates ahead, all eyes will now be on Parliament as it reconvenes to shape the country’s economic roadmap for the year.
