Washington: With declaring a official holiday in New York state on November One on account of Diwali, a national festival of lights , it has been made an international festival.
Diwali was being celebrated in India to commemorate the killing of Narakaasura by Lord Sree Krishna, according to legend.
According to political observers here, it would enhance support of Indian-Americans which is estimated to about 23 lakh people. According to a new survey of Indian-American Political attitude, it showed the support of 60 per cent ‘s support to the Democratic party. The sources found that a majority (60 per cent) registered Indian-American voters plan to vote for Democratic
Party candidate and Vice President Kamala Harris. Another survey by the Carneigie Endowment for International Peace ( CEIP) revealed that 67 per cent people of Indian-American supported Harris.
