New Delhi: Security at all Delhi Metro stations has been intensified ahead of the 79th Independence Day celebrations. The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) is leading the heightened security operations, which will continue until August 16.
As part of the measures, passengers can expect more thorough baggage checks, increased frisking, and deployment of additional personnel at key stations. Random checks inside trains and on platforms will also be carried out.
Officials said the move is aimed at ensuring passenger safety and preventing any untoward incidents during the national celebrations. Commuters have been advised to cooperate with security personnel and allow extra travel time to account for possible delays.
