Cyclonic Circulation to Bring Rain Back to Kerala; Yellow Alert Issued in Two Districts

Thiruvananthapuram: After a brief dry spell, Kerala is set to witness a return of rainfall as a cyclonic circulation near the equatorial region of the Bay of Bengal begins to influence the state’s weather. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast rain across Kerala starting Friday.

Isolated heavy rainfall is likely in Pathanamthitta and Idukki districts on Friday, prompting the IMD to issue a Yellow Alert as a precautionary measure. Heavy rain is defined as precipitation ranging between 64.5 mm and 115.5 mm within 24 hours.

The cyclonic circulation is expected to move towards the Sri Lanka region by Friday, leading to noticeable changes in weather conditions across Tamil Nadu and Kerala in the coming days. Southern Tamil Nadu is likely to receive widespread rainfall, while in Kerala, central and southern districts are expected to be more affected.

The IMD has advised residents in vulnerable areas to remain alert and take necessary precautions as weather conditions evolve.
