Thiruvananthapuram: Two leaders from the Indian National Congress joined the Bharatiya Janata Party on Friday ahead of the Kerala Assembly elections.
The leaders are B S Anoop and R S Arun Raj. Anoop had earlier contested as a Congress candidate from Chirayinkeezhu in the 2021 Assembly elections. Arun Raj is a working committee member of the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC).
They joined the BJP at a function held in Thiruvananthapuram. BJP state president Rajeev Chandrasekhar welcomed them by handing over party membership. Both leaders are likely to contest in the upcoming Assembly elections.
