Congress Attempts to Bring Antony Back from ‘Retirement’ Ahead of Crucial Kerala Elections

Thiruvananthapuram: With the crucial Kerala Assembly elections approaching, the Congress party is making efforts to bring veteran leader A.K. Antony back into active politics. The move comes in response to Rahul Gandhi’s firm directive to resolve internal conflicts within the party.

As part of this strategy, the party has decided to form an empowered committee to coordinate election preparations and unify the leadership. Senior leaders believe Antony’s experience and influence could help in stabilizing the party and strengthening its position ahead of the elections.

Congress has been struggling with internal factionalism in Kerala, which has weakened its prospects. The high command hopes that Antony’s return could bridge divisions and boost the party’s electoral performance. However, Antony has not yet made any official statement regarding his willingness to take up an active role again.
