Centre Grants ₹153.20 Crore to Kerala for Mundakkai–Chooralmala Disaster Relief

The Central Government has sanctioned ₹153.20 crore to Kerala as part of disaster relief efforts following the Mundakkai–Chooralmala natural calamity. The aid comes from the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) and is part of a wider ₹1,066.80 crore relief package allocated to multiple disaster-hit states.

Alongside Kerala, states like Assam (₹375.60 crore), Uttarakhand (₹455.60 crore), Manipur (₹29.20 crore), Meghalaya (₹30.40 crore), and Mizoram (₹22.80 crore) have also received central aid to tackle the aftermath of floods, landslides, and other natural disasters.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah confirmed the allocations on X (formerly Twitter), highlighting the Modi government’s steadfast commitment to supporting states in crisis. He noted that over ₹8,000 crore has been disbursed this year alone through SDRF and NDRF to strengthen relief and rehabilitation efforts across India.

This timely assistance aims to help state governments respond more effectively to the challenges of natural disasters, and ensure quick recovery and support for affected communities.
