Centre Announces Major Governor Reshuffle; Arlekar Gets Additional Charge of Tamil Nadu

The Central Government has appointed new Governors and reassigned several others across key states including Delhi, Ladakh, Telangana, Maharashtra, Bihar, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Himachal Pradesh and Nagaland. Ladakh Lieutenant Governor Kavinder Gupta has been appointed as the new Governor of Himachal Pradesh. Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena has been shifted to Ladakh in the same role, while former Indian Ambassador to the United States, Tarunjeet Singh Sandhu, has been appointed as the new Lieutenant Governor of Delhi.

Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Prasad Shukla has been transferred to Telangana, while Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma will now serve as the Governor of Maharashtra. Nand Kishore Yadav has been appointed as the Governor of Nagaland, and retired Lieutenant General Syed Ata Hasnain will take over as the Governor of Bihar, replacing Arif Mohammed Khan. Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu Governor T. N. Ravi has been moved to West Bengal following the resignation of C. V. Ananda Bose. Kerala Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar has also been entrusted with the additional responsibility of Tamil Nadu Governor until further arrangements are made.
