New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially released the exam schedule for the 2026 Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations. As per the announcement, the exams will commence on February 17, 2026, marking the start of one of the country’s largest academic events.
Students and schools can access and download the complete CBSE exam timetable from the board’s official website — www.cbse.gov.in.
Interestingly, CBSE had already issued a provisional timetable on September 24, a full 146 days before the exams, giving schools and students ample time for preparation. Each day’s exam will begin sharp at 10:00 a.m.
This year, approximately 45 lakh students will appear for the board exams across 204 subjects nationwide. The board has also ensured adequate gaps between papers to help students plan their study schedules efficiently.
For Class 10, the exams will open with the Mathematics paper, while Class 12 students will begin with Biotechnology and Entrepreneurship papers.
As per the official timeline, the Class 10 examinations will conclude on March 19, and the Class 12 exams will end on April 9, 2026.
The announcement has brought clarity and relief to millions of students gearing up for the crucial board exams, setting the stage for a smooth and well-organized examination season.
