CBI Reopens Investigation into Jesna Maria James Missing Case

The Central Bureau of Investigation has started a fresh investigation into the disappearance of college student Jesna Maria James, who went missing from Vechuchira, Pathanamthitta. As part of the renewed investigation, the CBI has opened a temporary office at the PWD Rest House in Erumeli. Officials said the investigation team is expected to arrive today, and the office will function for about six months to support the inquiry.

Earlier, the CBI had considered closing the case and submitted a report to the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court in 2024. Jesna went missing on March 22, 2018, from Mukkootuthara. At the time, she was a second-year student at St. Dominic’s College.

The case was first investigated by local police before being handed over to the CBI. Despite several years of investigation, Jesna’s whereabouts have still not been found. The new investigation aims to re-examine the case and search for fresh leads.
