Union Home Minister Amit Shah will introduce a new bill on Central Armed Police Forces in the Rajya Sabha on Monday. The proposed law aims to streamline rules related to recruitment, deputation, and promotion of officers in CAPFs.
The Central Armed Police Forces include the Central Reserve Police Force, Border Security Force, Indo-Tibetan Border Police, and Sashastra Seema Bal.
At present, each force is governed by its own law. Service rules and recruitment processes are handled separately under these Acts. The new bill is expected to bring more uniformity in administration and service conditions across these forces.
