Allu Arjun Questioned in Hyderabad Over ‘Pushpa 2’ Stampede Tragedy; Promises Support to Victim’s Family

Telugu superstar Allu Arjun appeared at Hyderabad’s Chikkadpally Police Station on December 24, 2024, for questioning regarding a devastating stampede incident that occurred during the December 4 premiere of his film “Pushpa 2: The Rule” at Sandhya Theatre. The tragic incident resulted in the death of a 35-year-old woman and left her 8-year-old son critically injured.

Arjun was arrested on December 13, 2024, alongside his security team and the theater’s management, facing charges of culpable homicide not amounting to murder. The charges emerged from allegations of failing to notify police about his attendance, which led to overwhelming crowd mismanagement. However, the Telangana High Court granted him interim bail on December 14 .

On December 22, tensions escalated when a group of activists attacked Arjun’s residence, demanding ₹1 crore compensation for the victim’s family. Eight individuals were arrested in connection with the attack .

During the recent police interrogation, Arjun reportedly expressed heartbreak over the tragedy and pledged financial assistance to the victim’s family, including covering the medical expenses of the injured child.
