Air India Flight from Hong Kong to Delhi Catches Fire After Landing; All Passengers Safe

New Delhi: An Air India flight from Hong Kong to Delhi encountered a major scare after landing at Indira Gandhi International Airport, when its Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) caught fire on the tarmac. The incident occurred shortly after the aircraft touched down, causing concern among airport authorities and passengers.

According to an Air India spokesperson, the fire was quickly brought under control, and all passengers and crew members disembarked safely without injury. “There was some damage to the aircraft, but emergency protocols were followed efficiently,” the airline confirmed in an official statement.

The APU, which provides power to the aircraft when the main engines are off, caught fire while the plane was parked. Ground crews and emergency services responded immediately, ensuring the safety of everyone on board.

An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the fire, and the aircraft has been taken out of service for a detailed technical inspection.

The incident has not impacted other flight operations, but Air India is coordinating with authorities to assess the damage and implement necessary safety checks going forward.
